What You Will Learn
The course follows the five-chapter structure of <em>Mastering Information Security — Volume 1, with each evening dedicated to one chapter:
Day 1 — The Essence of Information Security: Why security is a strategic organizational necessity, the history and evolution of the discipline, the CIA Triad, digital confidence (Authenticity, Non-Repudiation, Digital Trust), and the five interdependent elements of the security ecosystem — assets, vulnerabilities, threats, risks, and controls.
Day 2 — Information Security Principles: The sixteen foundational principles that govern every security decision — not as controls, but as the reasoning logic behind how secure systems are designed, implemented, and sustained.
Day 3 — Information Security Management: How security is governed and managed at the organizational level — ISMS frameworks, GRC structures, and the management disciplines that connect policy to practice.
Day 4 — Information Security Ecosystem: A complete structured map of all 25 security domains across Strategic Management, Security Engineering, and Security Operations — plus 9 formal security models, 6 framework categories, ISO/IEC and NIST standards, and vendor best practices from Cisco, Microsoft, and Oracle.
Day 5 — Information Security Implementation: How every element introduced across Days 1–4 functions as a connected system — the Elements Interplay model and a five-stage ISMS implementation roadmap that shows how a real security program is built from the ground up.
